Leading the Pivot | Choosing to Respond

Welcome to Wednesday! As you step into the natural pivot point of the week, here’s a brief moment of encouragement and perspective to help you lead the pivots in your life.

Leading the Pivot | Choosing to Respond

Practical wisdom for the pivots that shape us.

The Moment

Triggers rarely announce themselves. They slip in through the ordinary. A short email. A hard note. A stalled process. Suddenly the body is activated and the mind is ready to move.

It is not a character flaw. It is a signal. The question is what we do with it.

The Pivot

Perhaps the work is not eliminating the reaction. Maybe it is refusing to let it drive.

A reaction can be a signal without becoming a steering wheel. It can tell us what matters without deciding what happens next. Even when it feels like something is happening to us, there is still a choice waiting. Not the choice of what arrived, but the choice of what we release into the room.

We do not need a perfect pause. We need one small space. One breath. One beat. Long enough to plant our feet and remember what is at stake.

That space does not erase the trigger. It changes the ending.

The Move

Likely before the day ends, you will encounter the trigger and feel the reaction. Lean into the autonomy before you and choose what word or deed will follow.

This is where wisdom lives.

Cheering you on to your best life,
