Leading the Pivot | Room for What Matters Next

Welcome to Wednesday! As you step into the natural pivot point of the week, here’s a brief moment of encouragement and perspective to help you lead the pivots in your life.

Leading the Pivot | Room for What Matters Next

Practical wisdom for the pivots that shape us.

The Moment

The year’s final quarter is underway, and the weeks ahead are already packed.

The standing meeting is still on it. So is the Sunday night task we have repeated so many times that nobody questions why.

Both made sense once. They still feel important, so they stay. Every new priority gets stacked on top.

But do they really matter?

The Pivot

We’re good at adding. Taking something off the list is where the friction lies, so the list only keeps growing and the days get heavier.

A commitment can matter last quarter and still not belong in what comes next. Looking at it plainly and letting it go is part of the work.

Pruning gives time back. The hours that meeting and Sunday’s task held return to us, along with the energy behind them.

The Move

Pick one commitment that has long held your time and attention.

Ask yourself whether you would say yes to it today if it were just being introduced.

What might matter even more once there is an open space before you?

Cheering you on to your best life,
