Another mistake, close enough to one we already flagged that it feels less like an accident and more like a pattern. Our first thought goes to our own expectations. Maybe they’re set too high for where this person actually is. One mistake on a page can’t answer that. The Pivot With those we lead at work or at home, growth isn’t guaranteed. Some missteps just circle back, unchanged. What matters is whether anything shifts around the mistake the second time. Caught once, it’s information. Repeated in the same shape, it’s a habit still being protected. When it comes back closer to right, that’s someone working something out in real time. Growth arrives when the next attempt carries something the last one didn’t. The Move Look again at what you just noticed, not whether it was a mistake, but whether it was a different one than before.
