Leading the Pivot | Resisting the Rescue

Welcome to Wednesday! As you step into the natural pivot point of the week, here’s a brief moment of encouragement and perspective to help you lead the pivots in your life.

Leading the Pivot | Resisting the Rescue

Practical wisdom for the pivots that shape us.

The Moment

Sometimes it looks like helping.

You rewrite the email. Clean up the mistake. Cover the gap.

The work keeps moving, but it does not sit right. Not in the moment. Later. When you realize you saved the outcome, but you also kept the pattern alive.

The Pivot

Rescuing feels kind in the moment. It often costs both people later.

Support keeps the door open. Rescue carries someone through it.

Support makes space for ownership. Rescue quietly replaces it.

Most of us do not rescue because we want control. We rescue because we want relief. Because we want things to go well. Because we care.

But over time, rescue can turn care into a missed opportunity for growth.

The Move

Today you may feel the pull to step in and smooth it over.

What would it look like to keep the door open, without walking through it for them?

Cheering you on to your best life,
